Using a Groundwater Adjusted Water Balance Approach and Copulas to Evaluate Spatial Patterns and Dependence Structures in Remote Sensing Derived Evapotranspiration Products

چکیده
This study aims to improve the standard water balance evapotranspiration (WB ET) estimate, which is typically used as benchmark data for catchment-scale ET estimation, by accounting net intercatchment groundwater flow in calculation. Using modified WB approach, we examine errors and shortcomings associated with long-term annual mean (2002–2014) spatial patterns of three remote-sensing (RS) MODIS-based products from MODIS16, PML_V2, TSEB algorithms at 1 km resolution over Denmark, a test case small-scale, energy-limited regions. Our results indicate that novel approach adding calculation more trustworthy pattern. especially relevant smaller catchments where can be significant component catchment balance. Nevertheless, large discrepancies are observed both amongst RS datasets compared pattern national scale; however, analysis highlights difference decreases increasing size 90%, 87%, 93% all have ?ET < ±150 mm/year TSEB, respectively. In addition, Copula captures nonlinear structure joint relationship multiple densities RS/WB products, showing complex dependence (correlation); among datasets, MODIS16 shows closer ET, identified principal also. will help addition estimation contribute better understand true correlations environments.

Estimating Evapotranspiration of an Apple Orchard Using a Remote Sensing-Based Soil Water Balance
The main goal of this research was to estimate the actual evapotranspiration (ETc) of a drip-irrigated apple orchard located in the semi-arid region of Talca Valley (Chile) using a remote sensing-based soil water balance model. The methodology to estimate ETc is a modified version of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) dual crop coefficient approach, in which the b...

Evapotranspiration (ET) is a key component of the hydrologic cycle, accounting for ~70% of precipitation in the conterminous U.S. (CONUS), but it has been a challenge to predict accurately across different spatio-temporal scales. The increasing availability of remotely sensed data has led to significant advances in the frequency and spatial resolution of ET estimates, derived from energy balanc...
متن کاملAnalyzing the Spatial Pattern of Drought in Central and South Zagros Using Remote Sensing Indicators
Introduction: As a complex phenomenon occurring due to a long period of poor precipitation, drought causes water scarcity in the soil and the hydrological system via hydrological, bringing about long-term consequences which may lead to severe economic, environmental, and social problems worldwide. Droughts are classified into four types: meteorological (rainfall), agricultural (soil’s moisture)...
